We can do chill as well. We looked into each other’s eyes and wondered, how do these people do it, staying the whole vacation at the beach, doing nothing else? (And not ruin their marriage).
So, scientifically minded as we are, we decided to embark on a demanding experiment on ourselves to spend two days with limited movements from the left side of the beach towel to the right and in extreme case from one bar to another to sample different styles of cocktails.

A good starting point for our adventure, the beach bar “Paillotte a Piaghija”, was pleasantly located at the beach (surprise).

Food was amply provided for, fish for Chris and salad for me.

And then as a photographer with increasing dedication I wanted to find out how many different ways you can take pictures of cocktails. I had to start early in the day which resulted in a pleasant buzz around 2 pm, I was able to sustain it until bed time (for science).

We gave it our very best and we were successful, we enjoyed it a lot, we relaxed and after two days the mellow measure was at its maximum. And we each got our books done.
BUT, I cheated…
There was a side project. I wanted to observed the Sardinian Warbler / Samtkopfgrasmücke (or as per Chris in short “Samti”). This bird is not rare at all and you also hear its call everywhere in the lowlands, but it likes to hide in bushes and is very mobile and jumpy.
I got quite some good sightings, but getting a picture was a different thing as the focus always seemed to adjust on the branches before or behind the bird.
I think it is an impressive bird with the male having a black cap, a white throat, and red ring around the eyes and the female a bit less distinctly marked.

My second side project was around dragonflies. Chris is a bit concerned that I drift off into the abyss of ever deeper nerdiness and tries to collect proof for this, but I maintain that taking a picture of the ground in front of you with a 1600mm lens does not settle the case conclusively.

And in the end the result counts.
