Exploring the world since 1965

Rainy season, dry season, what does it matter? Apparently, we are in a region where the two seasons are the rainy season and the super rainy season. And we can call ourselves lucky that this is the rainy season.

We started with a bit of pre-breakfast birdwatching with some success.

And then it started to rain and then rained and then rained some more.

We had planned a tour through a park with many suspension bridges crossing valleys bringing you on eye-level with the tree-tops. More opportunity to watch some extraordinary birds, but not today as we were more on eye-level with a lot of clouds and rain.

We did not let this impact our good mood and enjoyed the warm rain and the still impressive forest.

Nothing much happened in the afternoon except some more birdwatching in the rain with beautiful feathered friends to observe. I think you don’t need to be a bird lover to think that these guys are marvelous.

Boat-billed Heron

As if we hadn’t had enough water already, we went to thermal hot springs in the evening and had a good soak with a sprinkle on top. There was a bit of general commotion by a group of loud US American teenagers which was not improved when a large iguana decided to take a swim in the hot water with us. Never have I seen a pool empty so quickly. 😀
